Custom Challenge Coin Manufacturer in China: OEM Guide

Looking for a custom challenge coin manufacturer in China that can take artwork from tooling through plating and enamel? WangFuk runs OEM / ODM challenge coin programs in Chang-an, Dongguan — the same workshops that produce metal board-game tokens, keychains, and bag hardware. This guide explains how we quote, sample, and produce coins so buyers know what to send and what to expect.

What “OEM challenge coin” means here

We do not sell stock challenge coins with your logo printed on overnight. Programs start from your crest, logo, letter, numeral, gear, animal, or themed artwork. We cut tooling (die cast or stamp), plate the metal, fill soft or hard enamel when needed, and pack for export. Unit price and tooling cost are quoted after we review drawings — quote-only, no fixed website prices.

Typical process

  1. Artwork review — AI/PDF preferred; confirm diameter, thickness, and which areas stay metal vs enamel.
  2. Tooling — usually about 7–10 days for a new die.
  3. Samples — about 7–10 days after tooling; approve plating and enamel before bulk.
  4. Mass production — about 15–20 days after sample approval for standard runs; larger or multi-finish lots may need 30–45 days.

MOQ is flexible — often from about ~50 pcs per design, confirmed on quote for complex bimetal or dual-plating coins.

Finishes buyers ask for most

Bright gold / silver / nickel, antique gold / silver / copper, gunmetal, and selective dual plating. Soft enamel for multi-color recessed logos; hard enamel when you want a flat, polished face. Capsules and presentation boxes are optional add-ons. For a deeper finish list, see our challenge coin plating options and soft vs hard enamel guides.

Challenge coins vs board-game tokens

Both can be die-cast zinc with enamel, but taxonomy differs. Commemorative and brand challenge coins live under Challenge Coins. Resource coins and game currency for publishers sit under Game Tokens and the board game components landing. Tell us which channel you ship to so we recommend edge profiles, thickness, and packing.

What to include in your RFQ

  • Artwork files and preferred size (diameter / thickness)
  • Plating name and enamel type (or metal-only)
  • Quantity target and any capsule / gift box need
  • Ship-to country and preferred Incoterms if known

We reply with tooling, sample timing, and unit pricing. For factory context see the Dongguan factory page, OEM FAQ, and sample lab tests. Ready to start? Contact WangFuk for a challenge coin quote.
